In Memory of Klink.
THIS IS KLINK…he died at CHEROKEE COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER …GAFFNEY SOUTH CAROLINA USA in 2005.
LOOK at this poor old dogs face…
Kilink was owner surrendered dog…he was to be rescued but before that happened…HE WAS KILLED at
Cherokee County Animal Shelter
THIS IS KLINKS SAD STORY…one in which should never happen to any animal.
Look at this face!!!
Bewildered- alone- Why am I here?
He had a rescue- Look what happened!!
I WAS KILLED!
Klink WAS a senior male German Shepherd in a high kill shelter in Gaffney, SC.
KLINK was needlessly ..killed!
Klink was let down by the people who originally owned him. He was either neglected by his family and allowed to become a stray or dropped off at the shelter by the very people whom had been entrusted to his care. Either way those people initially let him down. Then our society let him down. It is so easy for some of us to say I can’t do anything or I don’t have time to help or I’d rather not think about dogs like Klink.
Even though we had found a loving home to care for him, Klink, along with others, was needlessly put to sleep. No reason given, no lack of space, no aggression issues, nothing.
Not only was he put to sleep but he was put to sleep in a cruel manner. The animal control officers at this shelter will sometimes use what they consider to be a more humane effort to kill these animals. They shoot them, right there in the kennel in which they stand. Klink was shot because when they began to shoot some of the other dogs he became upset.
He’s, a dog, he became upset!
Why aren’t we as human beings more upset? The only way to stop this problem is to start at the root of it! We have to alert our congressman, our county officials, our legislatures, ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN that this is going on and that WE WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!
The look on his face is enough to bring tears to your eyes.
A senior- dumped by his owner- then shot for no reason!!!
Humane?? I don’t think so!! NO WAY.!!
RIP dear KLINK…oxoxo
THIS IS POOR OLD SAVANNA…RIP dear girl..xox
HER STORY IS DISGUSTINGLY SAD.
SHE WAS GASSED TO DEATH at the: Davie County Animal Shelter.
NORTH CAROLINA IS..a corrupt and degenerate state and isn’t content just gassing HOMELESS animals for being nothing other than homeless, they also will gas a very loved pet that just helplessly and accidently wandered into their midst.
Savanna, a 14.5 yellow Labrador Retriever was blessed living her whole existence being loved, nurtured and tended to by her owner Tim Robertson.
She spent the very last portion of her life in Davie County North Carolina on a small farm, with grass to run in, fresh air to breath, and her nights spent in comfort and love in a warm home. At 14.5- years-of-age Savanna was pushing past the norm for her life’s expectancy, and she was living on borrowed time. Time was taking its toll and she had developed a slight dementia extremely common in older canines.
Savanna knew only love and peace her whole life and to hear how it all ended for her is so heartbreaking and truly tragic. She wandered off their farm, after she was let outside to go to the bathroom. Her owner went to answer a phone call, wasn’t even gone 5 minutes, the dog had never left their property in the past years, in a tragic slip of an accident, she wandered off. As her owners searched frantically for her, couldn’t find her anywhere, searched for hours, they soon learned someone had found Savanna lying in a ditch of water, barely able to get up, and they mistakenly called the county Animal Control thinking they could and would get her medical assistance. Little did these good samaritans know of the kind of assistance Animal Control gave to Savanna, but it wasn’t kind and it wasn’t merciful.
The Davie County Animal Control wasted no time, not only did they NOT try and find Savanna’s owner, they didn’t even consult a veterinarian as to her condition. She wasn’t held a minimum 72 hours, she wasn’t even held 72 minutes. Instead, what they did was roll a very confused and scared Savanna into one of their gas chambers where they proceeded to GAS her to death.
Did you know that gassing an elderly dog is especially cruel and hard on them, as they rarely will die within the 33 minutes of gassing? (Yes, it takes 33 minutes to kill animals by gassing) But an elderly dog, will take twice as long and sometimes have to be done up to 3 times.
The Davie County Animal Shelter tried to justify, that since the dog was elderly and possibly suffering they put her out of her misery..but not by a humane method of euthanasia, but instead by an inhumane method of gassing an elderly dog and, unfortunately we will never know how long it took.
SHAME ON YOU ALL AT THAT SHELTER…!!!
